Welcome to School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE). Our School is located on the main campus of Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), which is nearby the East Lake and the Yujia Hill with a beautiful landscape of lush woods and green grasses. HUST is a Top 10 university in China and a Class A member of national “Double-First Class” Initiative. Since its establishment in 1952, our School has gradually become a vibrant community for materials innovation and education. The School is ranked 12th in Materials Science by ESI and 26th in the Best Global Universities for Materials Science (U.S. News). The mission of the School is to be a world-class materials science and engineering talent training base, innovative research highland, international cooperation and exchange center.

Our School currently has 3 undergraduate majors: Material Forming and Control Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, and Electronic Packaging Technology. The School also offers graduate educational programs leading to master and doctoral degrees in Materials Science and Engineering. Our educational program is dedicated to being an academic eco-system for world-class innovation and education in materials science and engineering and to cultivating leading technical talent to serve in industry, academia and public service.

Our faculty and staff are led by academicians and well-known professors, including: 2 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 68 professors, and 58 associate professors. Today, cutting-edge research are performed by different research groups in almost all areas of materials science and engineering, and had made domestic and international impact.

We are looking for eager and motivated students to take advantage of the opportunities and looking forward to working with talents to start faculty career toward becoming a materials excellence.
