The Center for Digital Forming and Mould Technology is oriented to meet the major needs of the national economy and national defense and performs research lines in terms of applied fundamental studies and technology innovation which centered around the basic scientific issues and cutting-edge topics in the fields of material forming and mould technology. The research achievement lists CDFMT on the top among the leading international ranks which has been applied in more than 1,000 domestic enterprises, research institutions or universities. As a result, CDFMT received numerous awards with national wide reputation. CDFMT also contribute to overcome technical problems of forming manufacturing related to the aerospace, automobile, household appliances, machinery and so on, which has promoted the technological progress of the industry and played an important role in the national economy and national defense construction.

CDFMT has established a faculty team led by distinguished professors，which is currently made up of 10 professors, 7 associate professors, 1 associate researcher, and 4 lecturers. With increasing efforts, the center shows distinctive characteristics and advantages in the main research directions such as material forming process simulation theory and method, digital die design and manufacturing technology, material intelligent forming technology, advanced composite forming technology, advanced metal material forming technology under special energy field and so on.
